Discover Thai Yoga Massage

Have you ever felt like you try to get into a stretch, or a certain position and you just feel stuck, like you can't get past a certain range in your muscles? If you feel stiff, stuck, tight or restricted in your body, you will absolutely drool over our specialized Thai Massage technique, offered by the owner, Miranda. Thai Massage, also known as Thai Yoga Massage, is a therapeutic practice that combines stretching, mobility therapy, and yoga-inspired movements to promote relaxation, flexibility, and overall well-being. Originating in Thailand, this ancient healing art has been practiced for centuries and is gaining popularity in Western culture due to its numerous benefits for both the body and mind. Dating back to over 2,500 years ago, Thai Massage has its roots in Ayurvedic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine. It is believed to have been developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, a physician to the Buddha, who combined elements of yoga, acupressure, and meditation to create a holistic healing system. The practice was initially passed down orally through generations of Thai healers before being formalized into a systematic approach.

Embraced by Western culture for its distinctive approach, Thai Massage offers a one-of-a-kind therapeutic experience. This fully clothed treatment is rooted in yogic stretching and is ideally conducted on a supportive floor mat. Combining various techniques such as compression, traction, joint mobilization, twisting, and stretching, Thai Massage provides a sensation akin to assisted yoga. As a result, clients often leave feeling not only relaxed but also noticeably more flexible, mobile, and rejuvenated. We recommend bringing comfortable sweatpants or leggings, and a comfortable t-shirt or tank top - something you feel comfortable moving around in!

Thai Massage is characterized by its unique blend of passive stretching, rhythmic compression, and gentle rocking movements. Practitioners use their hands, thumbs, elbows, and feet to apply pressure to specific points along the body's energy lines, known as Sen lines, to release tension and promote energy flow. This is incorporated with depth of compression, while stretching the tissues, allowing you to softly move towards more flexibility and range of motion in your joints that would be difficult to achieve in your own. It trains your body to understand, through new neuropathways being created, that your body can in fact, flex and bend, and allows you to create healthier movement patterns off the mat. The massage is performed on a comfortable floor mat, with the recipient fully clothed in loose, comfortable attire. In recent years, Thai Massage has become increasingly popular in Western culture due to its effectiveness in relieving muscle tension, improving flexibility, mobility, and promoting profound relaxation. Unlike traditional massage techniques, which primarily focus on kneading and manipulating soft tissue, Thai Massage incorporates dynamic stretches and joint mobilization to enhance therapeutic flexibility and mobility and give a true full body experience.
